GOP lawmaker: The economy is so good, ‘even Colin Kaepernick found a job’

The comment was apparently in reference to Kaepernick’s new role as the face of Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ 30th anniversary ad campaign.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has not been signed to a team since he left the 49ers at the end of the 2016 season.

Kaepernick has been a primary target of Trump’s criticism of the NFL over the kneeling protests, which take place during the national anthem.

PA Senate Candidate Lou Barletta: ‘Trump’s Economy Is So Good, Kaepernick Got a Job’

Pennsylvania Rep. Lou Barletta hosted President Trump at a rally in Erie on Wednesday night where he repeatedly praised the president and his accomplishments.

Barletta, a Hazleton Republican who is seeking to unseat Democratic Sen. Bob Casey Jr. this year, welcomed Trump to the Keystone State by reminding the crowd how much the president “loves Pennsylvania.”

Trump attended college in West Philadelphia, and some of the Trump children attended preparatory school in Pottstown.

“Each time that you come [here], the list of ‘promises made, promises kept’ gets longer and longer,” Barletta said.

Rep. Lou Barletta: ‘This economy is so good that even Colin Kaepernick found a job’

A Pennsylvania lawmaker scored a two-fer Wednesday ‘ finding a way to praise both Colin Kaepernick and President Trump.

Rep. Lou Barletta, a Republican, facetiously congratulated the former NFL quarterback on his new multimillion-dollar gig as a Nike spokesman, but gave credit somewhere Mr. Kaepernick might not appreciate.

Mr. Trump smiled, but scattered boos could be heard in the pro-Trump audience ‘ presumably for the player now best known for his national-anthem protests and a frequent target of Mr. Trump.
