Coronation Street’s Cherylee Houston ‘is set to set next week’


The actress, 46, who suffers from a rare connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, will reportedly return to set next week after shielding at home for 10 months.

Coronation Street‘s’Cherylee Houston, who plays Izzy Amstrong, is set to return to the cobbles next week after spending ten months in isolation.

The actress, 46, who suffers from a rare connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, was required to shield at home due to her condition.’

The disorder makes her clinically extremely vulnerable to the novel coronavirus which is why her return to the soap was delayed, as she informed fans on social media in March.’

The 46-year-old actress ‘ who was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome when she was 23 ‘ has been shielding due to the rare connective tissue disorder, which makes her vulnerable to the effects of coronavirus, but she is expected to reprise her role as Izzy Armstrong for special a one-off appearance.

According to Digital Spy, Izzy will appear via a video call and reveal to her pals she has been shielding in Weatherfield.

Cherylee, who hasn’t been seen on ‘Corrie’ since June 2020, said in February she wouldn’t be back on the soap “for a little while”.

Sunderland Students Taking Part In Inspirational Online Talks With Film Industry Experts

Ensuring Screen Performance students at the University of Sunderland continue to get a first-class experience despite being in lockdown, academics designed a module project that would offer access to leading lights of the small and big screen, and result in filming their own live episode of much-loved soap Coronation Street.

In preparation for the project, 18 students have been taking part in online sessions with a number of principal actors including Emmerdale’s Bhasker Patel (Thunderbirds, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom), and Liam Fox (Emmerdale, Dinnerladies), and Coronation Street’s first disabled actress Cherylee Houston and Terence Maynard (Coronation Street, Edge of Tomorrow, Revolver, Reign of Fire).
