EastEnders star Jake Wood has paid tribute to the soap after he left the role of Max Branning after 15 years.
Jake shared a tribute video from EastEnders on social media which took a look back at Max’s most memorable moments, right from the moment he first arrived in Walford with wife Tanya.

‘What an incredible 15 years it’s been. I’ll miss the show a lot but I’m looking forward to new challenges and new adventures.

The TV star previously revealed he has bagged a new job as a director, meaning he will be getting behind the camera in his first post-EastEnders gig.
In an Instagram post Jake shared a snap from behind-the-scenes as actresses stood outside a greengrocers.

Jossa portrayed Max’s daughter Lauren Branning from 2010 until 2018, and said in an Instagram post that Wood is “the only other guy I call dad”.
Jossa shared a series of pictures of herself with Wood on Instagram and referred to her co-star as a “legend”.
She added: “Thank you for everything. I learnt all I know from you and had the best time playing your daughter. Goodbye for now Max.

Wood responded to the post, calling himself Jossa’s “fake dad” and saying he is “proud of the young woman you have become”.
Shona McGarty, who plays Whitney Dean in the soap, also shared a tribute to Wood, writing that he will be “truly missed” by the EastEnders cast.
